Who Are We?
The Lakewood Church of Christ began in 1993 as an
urban mission church. The church planning was overseen by the Atlanta
Inner-city Ministry with the first Evangelists being Alfred Donald and
Mark Powell. Mark Powell left Atlanta in 1999 to pursue post-graduate
studies and presently teaches at Harding Graduate School in Memphis,
Tennessee.Each Sunday Lakewood provides
classes for all ages with breakfast for the children. On the fourth
Sunday of the month there is a food distribution after the worship
assembly.
Lakewood is an urban church with about
65 members and
meets in the Atlanta Inner-city Ministry facility on 1966 Lakewood
Terrace in Atlanta, Georgia.
